The results are in, and boy, did I get it wrong. I’d offered up several options for the new motto and even picked a temporary “winner” to use. Then we invited suggestions and put a list of 14 possible mottos up for a vote in our last edition of the The Silveridge Sun.
The winner, and our new motto, is…
“The Friendliest Park in the West”
Many thanks to Layton & Wanda Newman, who submitted it.
(What about my personal choice, the one we’ve been using as a stand-in till the voting was finished? That was “Another Great Day in the Park.” It came in a distant sixth. This reminds me of my years owning a market research firm, testing new products and new ads, when I learned a great life lesson, as expressed by Fats Waller: “One never knows, do one?”)
