Shuffleboard

Myrna and Duane Ehlert, came in costume to throw their opponents off. Everyone had a good laugh as they hobbled down to the courts to play
shuffleboard

Come join Shuffleboard and check out the newly finished courts!

Shuffleboard starts at 9:30am and is played every morning except Sunday.

Dues are only $5.00 per person for the season.

Shuffleboard encourages its member to join the Renters Association by paying $5.00 per lot. This entitles them to vote at the renters meetings.

When the games are finished playing the Shufflers enjoy coffee and cookies ! If you’re looking to have some fun and meet some nice people, play Shuffleboard!!

At Lou Pickard’s Celebration of life Service, Silveridge residents had an opportunity to shop from Lou’s collection of costume jewelry- all hung on a new white Christmas tree. Thank you to all the generous shoppers Lou’s jewelry tree made over $700.00 for the Decorations for the Ballroom. The decorators will be decorating Lou’s tree again in January for those who did not have an opportunity to shop. Thank you to Lou’s family for donating her beautiful jewelry!

Message From Sue – October 2015

Here we are embarking on a new season (my fifth already!) We have just completed our successful Welcome Back Parties. How heart warming to see your smiling faces and your lively chatter as you meet and greet your friends and neighbors. And don’t you just love the clear skies and sunshine?? Many of you are still arriving. Welcome! Now get ready for the biggest and best season ever!!

Starting November 1st the majority of our clubs and classes will resume. Have you decided what you would like to be involved in this year? Whether it be sports, or arts and crafts, or just learning how to play a new card game. (Try Triple Hand and Foot on Tuesdays), you can sharpen your mind and body. Seventy is the “new 60” they say, so why not also feel 10 years younger!! Check the bulletin boards and power point on channel 6 as well as checking my newsletter or online for a complete schedule of events.

Thank you to all our leaders and volunteers for your commitment to excellence. Because of your leadership you make it possible to have all our clubs and classes. I encourage you to think about offering your talent either to help out or lead. Many who have volunteered in leadership positions are retiring this year and moving on to new opportunities. We are grateful to all the retiring volunteers. Please see me or your present leader if you would like to volunteer. Who knows what you can bring to the table? Twenty year ago I was a guest visiting my Mother at Silveridge. I remember attending a dinner show and when I walked in there was Lou all dressed up in her hat and jewelry. She made me feel so welcome with her smile and hugs.
She did not know me but she made a lasting impression. I wanted to be like Lou to everyone I met. God had a plan. Little did I know that He would put me in the position as Activity Director where I could strive to emulate Lou through my work. One person can make such a difference in other people’s lives. Let us never forget that. We will miss you Lou. Your legacy will live on in our hearts forever!

My sympathy to the families of all those who have lost loved ones over the summer. The names are published in this newsletter as well as o n the memorial board across from the post office.

Do I have some exciting news for you! There will be some changes coming with the current newsletter. Starting in December my printed version will be shortened and there will be more information online on the soon to be newly revised Silveridge web pages! I now have a partner editor, Dale Dauten who will be editing the Silveridge Sun online. He is a fabulous writer and columnist. Do check out the October and November online newsletter and the interesting and informative article about our new GM, Rhonda Ciacco. You may want to join the “Writer’s Group”. Email dale@dauten.com. And don’t forget to submit a park motto. You can bring your suggestions to us in activities or submit online.

Let us all embrace change and continue to grow as we move forward to the biggest and best season ever!!
