Message From Sue Activity Director and Editor

Happy New Year to my dear Silveridge family! It’s hard to believe that the season is half over already. Whether you have been her since October or you are just arriving, the best is yet to come! Are we ever lucky to be able to think, create and plan our goals for the New Year?

Daniel Boone once said as he exploring the wilderness that he needed a “near look and a far vision”. As I reflect on our first 3 months of the season I am happy to report that my first goals are in progress. Our new directory is on its way! Thank you for your patience in getting your pictures. The orders have been coming in daily and many of you have reported that you are glad to have them for Christmas gifts. While looking through the 2005 directory I was amazed at how many of our Silveridge family is no longer with us. Pictures evoke memories of dear people who have been a part of our past and makes us appreciate the legacy they have left behind. Stop by the office anytime and take a look at some of the hairstyles and how the people and park has changed in 10 years! January will be busy as I work on all the photos for all the activities in the park. Thank you in advance to club leaders for submitting photos of your classes and groups. If you have not had your picture taken yet make sure you sign up for the week of January 5th– 9th.You must have your
picture taken to receive your free 8×10 picture and directory.

Another goal was to have our first ever pre- Christmas sold out Buddy Holly Christmas Show. Thanks to you- Mission Accomplished! Many of our other shows are getting close to sold out so please come and get your tickets or call ahead to order. And you know the Best is yet to come with 12 more boogies, 4 dinner delights, 3 dinner shows, 2 concerts, and breakfasts. Jerry and Tracy along with Harvey’s mentoring will have 40 meals to prepare for us. More delicious food to come! Please continue to let me know if you have a favorite entertainer or band that you would like me to consider. Starting in January I will be looking at the entertainment for the 2016-17 season. Just for the ladies this year we are having a ladies tea and a shopping day with New Image Fashions. Make sure you bring a tea cup and don’t forget to wear your fancy hats!

Isn’t our new decorating team the best? The ballroom and lobby are beautifully decorated for Christmas and what a great charity event the decorators accomplished with the toy drive for children of military families. Thanks to your generous donations they delivered 82 toys to the Legion.

As you set your goals for 2016, I challenge you to think outside the box. You continually amaze me with your good works. Whether it be driving someone to their doctor appointments or climbing ladders to pick fruit or offering to lead a class; the list is always evolving. You know the meaning of “blessed to bless others”. Let us look forward with positive mental expectancy to being our best and knowing that the best is yet to come!
